Mdluli Safari Lodge is the story of one man’s vision for the land, and for the Mdluli people. Today this land is significant for many reasons. We invite you to be part of our story – a tale of the wonder and beauty of the Kruger National Park, the authentic charm of Siswati tradition, and a deep-rooted commitment to conservation.
The lodge is located inside the south-western region of the Kruger National Park, a 5 hour drive from Gauteng and accessible via a private road from Numbi Gate – the closest gate from Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport.
The lodge is fully fenced, and monitored 24/7 through an external control centre.
Cool down from the hot African sun in our iconic infinity pool – just meters from the fence. The pool overlooks a watering hole, where we regularly have elephant, zebra and impala – and if you’re lucky, a rare sighting of the herd of sable antelope.
ACCOMMODATION
50 Luxury Tents – Welcome to the tranquility of your luxurious tent.
With oversized patios and views into the Park, your elevated tent and private patio is both spacious and indulgent, with all the amenities you’ll need for your stay with us. There is no better place for relaxation in the African bush.
Each of the custom-designed tents have en-suite bathrooms, and can comfortably sleep a family of four. The use of canvas and natural timber materials gives each tent a true safari feel. The interior palette takes inspiration from the tones and textures found in the surrounding natural environment.
The ambience of the tents and main areas is created through a carefully curated fusion of raw timbers and canvas textures with the authentic charm of Siswati tradition. Each area of the lodge is designed to create a feeling of being connected to nature, whether indoors or outdoors.
The deck, restaurant, boma and oversized infinity swimming pool are cleverly positioned through their open architecture and proximity to the lodge’s fence line to allow guests to find their quiet space while a herd of elephant or buffalo amble past to the river that lies adjacent to the fence line.

DINING
With a variety of beautiful settings in which to dine, Mdluli Safari Lodge offers you a delicious safari dining experience. After your morning game drive or bush walk, we invite you back to the lodge to enjoy a scrumptious breakfast in the restaurant, with views overlooking the Park.
Lunch can be enjoyed at the open deck area, pool-side or in the restaurant. Guests have the opportunity to enjoy dinner under the Africa night sky around the fire in our traditional boma. Please enquire ahead of your stay regarding boma dinners.
BAR AND DECK LOUNGE
Our bar and deck areas offer you front row, expansive views across the Park.
Choose from our curated coffee and drinks menu, sit back and watch the elephants, giraffes, warthogs just meters from the fence – you might catch the herd of over 200 buffalo who often come past!
BUSH BRAAI
Experience an unforgettable dinner in the middle of the bush.
We will drive you in one of our open game vehicles to the Mdluli Dam, where you can enjoy dinner around the fire, in the middle of the bush, under the open African sky. Our experienced guides will accompany you, keeping you safe as you experience nature’s most magnificent dining setting. *Note: Minimum of 10 people required for a bush braai dinner.
BREATHTAKING GRANITE ROCK
Unique to the location of the Lodge is our exquisite granite rock formation, located within our perimeters, and a short walk from your tent.
Take a walk up to nature’s perfectly elevated viewpoint and breathe in the 360 panoramic views of the Kruger Park. This is the ultimate spot to take in the beauty of the landscape. Contact our team to book a private picnic, sundowners – or a truly unforgettable proposal!
BIG 5 GAME DRIVES AND BUSH WALKS
Experience Kruger however you choose – whether you prefer to venture out in your own car, join us on a morning bush walk, or embrace its beauty from the comfort of one of our raised vehicles with our experienced guides.
Guided bush walks are an incredible way to immerse yourself into the wild, and to experience the bush in the most up close and personal way. Feel free to engage with our experienced guides, they are sure to keep you entertained with exceptional knowledge on the Kruger Park as well as stories about their past experiences, all whilst tracking magnificent animals on foot. Please note: Bush walks need to be booked through our reservations team in advance.
No game drive is complete without taking time to slow down and celebrate the environment you’re in – stopping in the middle of the Park for coffee in the morning, or sundowners in the evening.
Muffins, rusks and warm drinks are offered in the restaurant before the early morning game activity.
WEDDINGS AND SPECIAL EVENTS

CONFERENCES
This is the idyllic, luxury venue for conferencing, and Big 5 game viewing. Our venue caters for bespoke conferences, team building and corporate events for smaller groups of up to 40 delegates – or alternatively full lodge capacity of up to 100 guests (50 persons sharing)
Magically set within the Kruger National Park, the natural beauty of Mdluli Safari Lodge makes for the perfect location for you to step out into nature, come together and connect with your team. We have a number of locations within the lodge that cater to indoor and outdoor experiences.
Dining, collaborating and relaxing are all accompanied by the surreal backdrop of the park, herds of elephants passing by and the sounds the infinity pool flowing into the vistas.
