ACCOMMODATION:

KWENA LODGE SUITE (King or Twin Beds)

Kwena Lodge offers guests 14 stand-alone bedrooms designed with a modern and luxurious twist on the traditional Khoi-San “hut”. Each open plan suite is nestled into its spectacular surrounds with 180-degree views of the spectacular mountains and Fynbos scenery, sky lights for star gazing, closed wood burning fireplaces and deep baths to keep you warm upon return from an evening game drive. There is a separate toilet room and rain shower as well as a double vanity. Each privately situated room has a covered verandah with chairs and loungers overlooking the passing wildlife.

The spacious Kwena Lodge facilities include a large infinity pool, a African inspired open plan lounge and bar, with dining offered in beautiful indoor and outdoor settings including an elegant indoor dining room set around 2 open fireplaces and a thatched outdoor dining venue overlooking two waterholes, as well as the outdoor African boma.

Beautiful spa facilities are offered in the private Spa Tent with 2 treatments rooms and a full spa menu utilizing the natural and luxurious Africology products.

The Fynbos Villas are located adjacent to Kwena Lodge and provide ideal accommodation for families or groups and offer total privacy and spaciousness. The deluxe three bedroom villas (all ensuite) feature an open plan lounge with kitchen and dining room all opening onto a wraparound deck with magnificent valley and mountain views and passing wildlife.

The Fynbos Villas are located adjacent to Kwena Lodge and complimentary transfers are provided in open game viewers to and from Kwena Lodge for all meals and game drives. The Fynbos Villas have a premium price to the Bush Villas for this reason and due to their closer accessibility.

4 BEDROOM BUSH VILLA

The Bush Villas are located more remotely on the reserve and provide ideal accommodation for families or groups and offer total privacy and spaciousness. The deluxe four bedroom villas (all ensuite) feature an open plan lounge with kitchen and dining room all opening onto a wraparound deck with magnificent valley and mountain views and passing wildlife.

The Bush Villas are located 10km from Kwena Lodge, requiring guests to self-drive in their own vehicle to and from Kwena Lodge for meals and game drives. This is a 15-20 minute drive one way. Many guests enjoy this private game drive opportunity.

CHILD POLICY

• Families are booked into exclusive use Bush or Fynbos Villas for their comfort and convenience (cots and high chairs are available).
• Minimum 2 night stay applies to Bush Villa accommodation
• Children under the age of 6 stay free when sharing with 2 full paying adults.
• Children under 12 stay at 50% of the adult package rate
• Children 6 years and older are permitted on the scheduled game drives (If you would like to have your 5 year old child on the game drive, you would then have to pay the 50% adult rate for that child. I have already added this to the price.)
• Children under the age of 2 years are not permitted on game drives for safety reasons
• Private Vehicles may be hired for families with children between the age of 2 and 6 at a charge of R3000 per drive. Private vehicles are subject to availability. Where possible we try to group young families together at no extra charge at the time of stay.
• Childrens’ menus are available. Please advise us should your children have any specific dietary requests, and we will gladly accommodate them.

• If parents wish to dine in privacy, baby sitting can be arranged in the Villas with in room dining meals for kids to enjoy.

• Gondwana offers babysitting facilities (R150/sitter/hr), subject to availability.
• The Junior Ranger experience is available for all children visiting Gondwana.
